Subject: [s-cars] Da Fuel Pump Blues
After the meeting (10:30 PM), I go out the car, get in and try to start it.
Wouldn't start. It tried to catch on the first attempt but it sputtered and
then nothing. Several attempts = nothing. Tried again this (Friday)
morning. Cranked like the band. No go. Dolly towed to Speedway Motors,
the Victoria Audi (Porsche/VW) dealer (thankfully I have CAA plus). Two
hours of diagnoses. (Including my "multidysfunctional switch" red herring).
Answer: Fuel Pump.

Dave-
Hmmm... so sorry to hear of your misfortune. To rub salt into your fresh
wounds, mine has been doing all of the above (well, minus the LAST part of
'not starting') since like f'n November, BUT, knock woody, it's not left me
stranded yet. Only requires 3x of extended cranking when hot, and a little
sputter when cold. Ya think I'd have fixed this by now... naaaa...
Rod, you send me yours yet??? Apparently I don't wanna end up like poor
'ole Davie here 8-)! Would serve me right for waiting so long...
-Paul winter always seems to break things on my cars but at least I haven't
got stuck yet K.
