Greg I can't believe this guy didn't know this car had a salvage title.
Aside from thoroughly checking the car out, the dealer almost always does a
carfax check of a car that's going to be traded in. And if it wasn't a car
that was traded in, It was an auction car( this is where most used car
dealers get there cars if they are not trade ins. My advise to you is this.
Go the Kelly blue book web sight or nada sight end enter all the information
for the car as if you were the dealer buying it (trade in value) it will
also give you the option to enter salvage title or not. This way have an
estimated value of the cars worth to a dealer. I would start my pricing from
there. Allan
Anther thing......you should be able to insure any car with a salvaged title
as long as it passes a state inspection and is road worthy, however I think
at least in my state CT, you need what's called a rebuilt title
