"Calling Elvis" (for all you Dire Straits fans...)

Is thing a pain to put in? I don't imagine it would be, but I haven't found
my way into the engine compartment of my 95 S6 yet.
Any things to keep in mind?
Thanks!

Elvis

Elvis - Do Not oil the filter before installing. and I would be EXTREMELY
carefull about the amount of oil that you put in the filter for the
subsequent maintainence intervals. K&N ships their filters pre-oiled, so
you may just want to double check to make sure that it isn't saturated with
filter oil.

Several listers have had problems with oil contamination of the MAF element.

otherwise, they're easy to put in. shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes,
even if you have to search for the clips that release the 2 halves of the
airbox. IIRC, there are 3-4 of these clips, and one of them is way down
near the bottom of the box sort of hidden, and it's on the side closest to
the firewall. May be easier to use a long screwdriver or needle nose pliers
to help reconnect.

You may want to disconnect the wire to the MAF and also the retaining
zip-tie type plastic retainer doo-hickey that holds the wire harness to one
corner of the airbox assembly. This will allow you more room to manuver
everything.

Oh, and try not to drop the MAF. it's sorta sensative to hard impacts.
