Howdy-
Well, Brian and I finally fixed my f'n car last night, all that 747
screeching and rattling up there WAS in fact my water pump.
Not a fun job. Especially when you begin it @ 9 pm. And then when you
break off the tip of an allen wrench in the head of one of the hardest to
get to bolts (of course), and costs you 2 hours. Yay. Otherwise it may
have been a 3 hour job, with the appropriate beer-factor, of course.
ANYway. Did I mention it's not a fun job?. Can't compliment Audi for it's
simplistic design for access to a major wear item. Need to move the PS pump
to get to it? WTF!!! Grrr...
AnyANYway, good news is it's done, got it before she self destructed.
Started car sans serp. belt, watched WP pulley visibly wobble, not good.
Did the Tbelt tensioner bearing too while we were in there. Parts were
cheap, total of $150 or so. And, oddly enough, buttdyno indicates some
unexpected pep gain. Could the worn wobbling WP cause slightly notable
drag? Odd...
Fuel pump to be tackled Sat... yippee.
