Guys,
I was just wondering if there is a specific component I should look at to
resolve a clunking sound that just appeared from the LR suspension.
The clunk is metal on metal and can be reproduced if I bounce the LR of the
car with my hand (apprx. 50 lbs down force). The noise can also be heard at
speeds under ~40 mpg when I encounter sharp undulations/frost heaves in the
road. There is no noise on smooth surfaces or on the highway (probably due
to down force induced preload). Visual inspections doesn't present any
obvious component failure. Car rides/handles fine. Stock suspension is new
with <3,000 miles. (the PO recently brought it to the dealership to replace
the special IA suspension, damn!)
Thanks for any suggestions,
Ed
