Dave;
It should take about 30 minutes to change a fuel pump with the proper
tools - 60 minutes max. including donut, coffee, and piss break.

Subject: [s-cars] How long to change a fuel pump?
The reason I am asking is I got my 93 back yesterday (after playing "Planes
and Trains" (actually buses and ferries). The "dealer" charged me 1.2 hrs
for the diagnostics (to find that it was likely the fuel pump), 0.5 hrs to
do a "fuel pump pressure test" (ah huh) and then (the killer) 2.2 hrs to R&R
the fuel pump. This seems excessive to me since when I last saw the car on
Friday afternoon, the trunk area was partially dismantled and the inspection
plate was off already (I am not sure if the fuel pump was out or not). I am
thinking that I got double-charged for about an hour because they went
strictly on "book time" not on "reality".
Any thoughts?
Dave F.
