Ed,
You are a trouble maker.)
WRT separating ECU boards; now there's some kind of jigsaw puzzle eh?
IIRC ..and its been 9 months and I ve only done it once, so YMMV...
If you look straight on at the edge card connector ends of the two boards I
believe there there are also two small plastic guide tabs, one each,
perpendicular to both ends of the edge cards. These look like they should
unsnap something but they do nothing other than guide the boards together
into this frame thing.
Around the edge card connectors is a plastic loop. (Frame thing.)
I believe you push down and back on one of the edge card connectors to free
it from this plastic loop or frame. Then the boards just fold open.
A lotta light and possibly a magnifying glass are good aids in attaining a
eurika moment:)
When changing chips make sure
1 You have the timing chip going where timing chip goes and boost chip going
where boost chip goes.
2 That they are oriented in the right direction. (Notch on correct side.)
3 Be EXTREMELY careful not to bend the pins when removing and inserting. A
tool here would be helpful. And make sure that all pins are properly seated.
4 Watch out for static electricity in this dry cold weather. ie ground
yourself.
5 Double check every step.
Now how bout go back to golf and ponder the shots that tiger makes and we
dream of.
HTH
