Varon: I was the one who wrote the headlight lense "cleaning"/swapping
procedure posted on urS4.com (with the help of several people). It
really isn't difficult at all. At the time (about 98 or 99?) my 93 S4
lenses were quite hazed (from the inside). I didn't want to spend the
$$$ for the Euro headlights so I went the el cheapo route with new Hella
Euro S4 lenses and Philips/Narva xenon/halogen bulbs (they are whiter)
from Paul at PUMA (search with Google). I got a few hints from a few
people and then went at it. Getting the headlights out was quite easy
after I figured out the tricks with the headlight washer and the side
marker lights. The epoxy on my headlight clips gave it up quite
easily. As per Fred's (and others) comments - be vary careful
"cleaning" the reflective surfaces. Water only - no Windex or ammonia
products. Clean soft flannel cotton (no jammy's with buttons). Windex
is okay on the glass lenses - but only if you throughly dry them before
(re)installation. Even if you only clean the lenses it will be worth
the hour or two of labour.
