Speedvision (refuse to call it by it's new NASCAR-ruined name!) routinely
runs cheeeeeeezy commercials, even worse, 1/2 hour infomercials. I accept
it as it's worth the programming (well used to be!).
ANYway, a recent commercial piqued my interest, figured I'd run it by the
collective stupidity here to see if anyone has either heard of or tried
this.
It's called Brake Tru (coincidentally here out of Wallingford, CT). It's
"reportedly" a better method to resurface one's rotors. All it appears to
be is some sort of pad shaped sand paper of sorts with an adhesive backing
that applies to the pad. Hit the brakes and voila, rotors look good as new.
OK, sounds too good to be true, especially on well-grooved rotors. *BUT*,
me wonders if this is a good way to de-Mintex-goo one's rotors? Really just
curious more than anything, mine have been fine.
OK to use on slotted rotors? What happens to the item once you use it, just
burns off? My guess is this is about as bonafide as any of Rocky Mountain
Radar's laser jamming JUNK that don't work...
Again, just curious. Discuss.
