Yes, I had 245/45-16 on the front and 225/50-16 on the rear. The 5KCSTQ
with about 275 hp and that combination of tires was awesome. I ran it at
Waterford hills once like that, and it was one of those rare times when
the car seemed to drive itself. The car was lowered slightly, and it had
slightly stiffer shocks. The sway bars were all stock though as were the
bushings. I also had an S4 front strut brace, modified slightly to fit
the 5KCSTQ. It also had alot of rear negative camber which helped rear
grip. So that was slightly at odds with the goal to reduce rear grip in
order to promote oversteer. The balance was perfect though.
It was a pretty tight handling car overall. The tramlining was primarily
due to the very stiff sidewalls of the D40M2 tires, and the offset that I
had in order to fit the tires on the front. The front wheels were 16x8.5
ET35 IIRC. There were a couple mm clearance to the steering arm on the
strut, but the tires' sidewalls were so stiff that they didn't flex enough
to touch those steering arms. I couldn't believe it. The rear wheels
were 16x7.4 ET45.
