FYI, they'll be at the Lime Rock Park Memorial Day weekend race- the
NEQ is going to be doing a hospitality tent etc again this year(with
an even better location, I've been told- last year we were very close
to the no-name straight, this year, we'll be closer towards the pits
side of the hill, thus getting a clearer view.)
www.neqclub.org has the info. Make sure you order tickets from the
club well in advance- last year we got faked out, nobody ordered
tickets until the last second, so the eventmaster scaled back the
event since nobody seemed to be biting on the tickets(and as a result
we lost our reserved corral parking)...and then we ran out of
tickets! So, this year, please don't wait :-)
Though I'm obviously far from impartial being social events
coordinator for the region, I feel this is one of the most affordable
'major' racing events you can go to...$125 for a full weekend pass,
and for monday, a hospitality tent, lunch, signing session with
Champion's drivers, paddock pass, etc($100 if you want everything but
just for the one 'big' race day, Monday. Tent, lunch, etc are only
monday.) Mike(the eventmaster) and I haven't talked about it yet,
but I'll ask if this year we can do a corral.
FYI, if you're on a tighter budget, there is also the vintage
festival weekend later in the summer(though please note the webpage
for the vintage festival hasn't been updated- the event will be
organized differently, since we've got a lot more time this year for
planning etc.) The vintage festival is also basically unlimited in
size.
Last but not least, there's the Northeast Audi Owner's Group
Aftermarket Event, which this year is at the Big E out near
Springfield, MA- the NEQ is tentatively running an autocross there
for the NEAOG. There is talk floating around of a possible TSD
rally, too...we'll see!
