Paul,
I concur with Doug's assessment, where wear and tear is primarily managed with the right foot, and overall driving style.
I had thought through this topic for 1.5 years with my original owner, pristine 93.
I thought, why fix it if it;s not broken, but ultimately determiend the Stage1 updates are not very stressful to the lifecycle of the product.
I thought (past) that RS2 mods would get into the area of accelerated life cycle reduction, but now having read this list for 3 years, cannot back that paranoid optinion with facts.
It now seems to my experience, that track use accelerates death of the machine, not (really) periodic and un-sustained spirited highway driving.
I say take the first step, completely with chip, brakes, suspension, exhaust, and you'll enjoy the S6 for years to come.
Regular oil changes have a lot of influence on life more that anything else.
