[s-cars] ECU Modification

The ECU is pretty much right under the passenger's toes!

You need to remove the passenger side kick pannel, which is an integral part
with the door sill. (The kick pannel/door sill was surprisingly
inexpensive... only around $16. Guess how come I know!)

You also need to cut the carpet along the vertical seam by the transmission
tunnel (i.e. to the left of the passenger's left foot.) Perhpas someone
else can throw in some useful advice on cutting the carpet... mine was
already cut by the previous owner.

Once the kick pannel is off and the carpet is cut, you can fold back the
carpet (along with some very thick foam padding) to get at the ECU box. The
ECU is housed inside a black plastic box with a 2-part lid. There are a
couple screws and some tabs holding the lid in place.

Subject: [s-cars] ECU Modification

Question: I was looking at the pictures of ECU removal on URS4.com (getting
worried about my ECU upgrade considering all this talk about the end of the
MTM ECU!) and I was confused as to the precise location of the ecu
underneath the carpet. It states that the ECU runs next to the transmission
tunnel, which i presumed to mean it would be forward and to the LEFT of the
passenger seat (facing foreword), yet the directions tell to pry off door
sill. What is the reason for this and how should i approach the install?
Sorry for any problems, I'm still learning about these beauties.

THANKS!!
