[s-cars] Bad smell on starting - Part le Deux

Hmm.. That's a good point. I'll really check it, but the initial smell was after 'clutching' slowly past a car, and when I think of it, it's a bit like burned clutch. (Got a bit of that, pulling out my friend's Scoobie from a bit too far into a snowy field yesterday.. ;o)) Strange that it gets inside the compartment that fast, though, altough I nearly always reverse right after starting..  Another point is that I can't smell anything on the right side of the engine, just the left. (where the generator is..) Guess it's just generator rebuild time..

I'm juust about to get my t-belt changed, (208kkm) and the local V.A.G. wants 'just' $550 for the job. Just right for a 3-hour job. NOT!!
Well, I guess it's better than working in a cold, (-10C) cramped (5m deep) garage!

BTW: The cabrio gets a new window from the insurance of course! A LOT of hassle and special tools (Pressure frame) involved mounting the window!!
