[s-cars] ECS Big Reds, Mintex reds, and horrendous brake squeal

There are so many variables at work here that one person's "soft-pads"
are another person's squeal cancelling miracle pads.

Case in point, Mintex Reds cured JC White's Bira Sys 3 horrendous
squeal.

I've said it so many times, I can't believe I'm saying it again...

For the street (and light to medium track work!!) the factory Porsche
pads work for more than they don't.

Regardless, you would be well advised to go with the full boat factory
vibration dampener setup (Porsche had to develop these parts for a
reason), and use the Mercedes Benz anti-squeal paste (I've posted the
part number up so many times I don't feel like going down into the
basement to get the part number).

It is important to note that Porsche seriously beefed up the style of
the vibration dampeners between 993 old technology conventional calipers
and 986 / 996 Monobloc calipers. Interestingly the old damperners can be
used on the earlier calipers, but not that other way around (w/o
modification).
