The prior owner of my car had the clutch done at an Audi dealer about 2
years ago. Besides the clutch they replaced the master/slave cylinders,
flywheel, and rear crank seal. Cost was (ouch, ouch) $3K. Allowing for
inflation, that's probably your upper limit. I've read a number of posts
where people have had it done for around $2K at independent places. A big
culprit in the cost is replacing the dual-mass flywheel, which apparently is
nearly impossible to resurface. Some have successfully reused the old
flywheel without touching it.
