MP3 and / or minidisk player in a head unit ...
High grade parametric EQ for front / rear channels (optional)
Bullet proof high performance (HAP Grade) Amps, I suggest PPI. (personal
preference, and I have never smoked one yet even thru 1 ohm capacitive
loads).
Split front speaker system, separate midlow and tweeter.
Rear 6x9's ..
And of course a big bad ass HAP boom box for the trunk.

But then again I don't hear so well anymore, so your system may vary !
