An interesting read re WRX tuning and turbo tuning in general is
http://www.spdusa.com/wrx.htm. His writeups on tuning make occasional
mention of Audi turbos -- there's the Audi content! Sure, 300 hp is
certainly doable on the Subie, but after you read his writeup, you may
have second thoughts. A lot of the discussion focuses on the limitations
of the 91-93 octane swill they call gasoline in this country.

As to styling, what can I say? Mike Shields, of the above mentioned SPD
tuning, mentions that Subaru, like Porsche, has an engineering
organization which is seperated from the production/marketing machine. I
can only surmise that the styling organization is kept seperate from ANY
human contact. The aftermarket does offer some plug-in headlight units
with two projector beam units, which look quite a bit like the units on
the rally cars and go a long way towards eliminating some of the bug-eye
look.
