Pathetic if you're blowing up 4G63s- same base engine in the Evo.
They're capable of a lot of power- what setup was your friend running?
All of that piggyback crap has got to go as well- go to standalone
engine and fuel management with a _gifted_ tuner, and you're all set.
Motec, Haltech, Electromotive, etc. are all fine as long as you know
what you're doing.
As for the wing on the STi, it's removable, you know. Get the wagon
version and
label it something like "2.5 TS" and keep the car relatively
stock-looking
and no one will know until you get on the gas.
The whole generation of cars currently out and coming out soon is
exceptional- 500hp MBZs, 300hp compacts, etc. I just hope the insurance
rates don't skyrocket like they did in the late '60s with musclecars.
I also hope we don't get too many wreckless kids in these things- an Evo
or STi is a real rocketship, very dangerous in unskilled hands.
A Ford Taurus wagon understeering and nearly clipping the Armco right
next
to me at 60 is one thing, an Evo doing the same thing at 120 will simply
lose it completely, bounce off, run into my car and then cause a
multi-car
accident.
