Really at the end of the day how safe are these cars !
I know I can do 130 MPH and still be under the limits of the car.
I don't really think I'd wanna be at 100 MPH in a Neon let alone 130.

<RANT>
Since these cars are the target of our young drivers WTF are the car
companies thinking.
I KNOW we can all agree we did some dumb stuff when we were young, but I
didn't have a 225 HP 2000 lbs (or whatever it is) car under me. I likely
would not be writing this if that was the case. You cannot teach common
sense and restraint, it is learned over time. You can't teach a young driver
how to anticipate what the old guy with a hat is going to do as you pass
him. I have 2 years until I teach my daughter how to drive, I think some of
these lessons will be at a track with a qualified instructor. I know kids
will do what they do, they are fearless at  that age, I was. If she has good
training under her wing, it may save her life when things go bad.

I just don't understand why a car manufacturer would build cars that target
teenage drivers that have the capacity to do the speeds they can. But I
guess they do it because they can, and their competition is doing it so they
have to to ensure sales. At least with a 60,000 dollar car, not every kid
next door is going to have it.
I remember the story of the rich kid getting a Porsche 994 for his 16th
birthday. Needless to say he wasn't driving it on his seventeenth birthday.
