Was somebody sitting in the seats?  The rear heaters work only when there is
weight on the seat.  If that's not the problem, it's worth it to lift the
rear seat bottom and see if the cable for the heaters is plugged in.  If
somebody had removed the seat bottom to work on the battery or something
else they might have left the seat heater cable unconnected.  It's a bit of
a pain to reconnect it when putting the seat bottom back in.
