Maybe someone more knowledgeable can give more info, but my
impression was the ATTESA system used by Nissan is a electronically
controlled center diff. system that is heavily rear-biased.
The brief descriptions by the car mags seem to support that, and I
know the Skyline GT-R in the R32 and R33 iterations are rear-biased
enough that one can get rear wheelspin off the line.
It will go to 100% rear, but I think the max front bias is 50%, so
more capable than the current Porsche Carrera 4, but not like the
Subaru or Audi systems.
Having seen the Cayenne S and the Infiniti FX45, I'll have to reserve
judgment post-test-drive- the FX45 looks like a winner for a tall wagon-
.87g (IIRC) and 0-60 in 6.3s will smoke the Cayenne for nearly $15k
less,
forget about the ML55, Touareg 4.2 and the X5 4.6is.
