Excellent! You guys are fabulous - I cannot imagine owning a car, knowing
nothing about it, and paying the stealer based on his word (oh wait a
minute, that was me in the 90's with the wife's Volvo 850).
Roight - down to business. Let's do a GP and really knock this compressor
price to the rock bottom, then we'll go to Nationals this Summer, and be
real kewl. Maybe this needs a compressor-install-picnic - yikes, why do I
post when I'm sooo tired.
I'll try and post some unit prices later this week - but I'm gonna want this
wobble-plate design (what great conversation this is gonna be with the
ladies, my wife already asked how much?). Are the non-Bosch units this same
design?

Subject: Re: A/C Compressor Needed
I have a bookmark to www.compressor-intl.com/index.html, so must have
been mentioned on the list at one time or another. They carry Bosch
compressors -- might check them out. (No affiliation, no nuthin'). I'll
need to replace mine, too, before the summer months. Audi uses a "wobble
plate" design, which can vary the output and avoid that annoying on-off
cycle of lesser brands -- Vorsprung and all that. Downside is that the
unit is not the most robust out there. Mine's sounding more than a
little grumbly -- more like playing cards in the spokes. :-)
