I'm not as mechanically savvy as some of the other listers here, but by injecting water INTO the air through the intercooler, wouldn't that change the compression in the engine?  This seems too good to be true, no?

Also, on the new WRX STi, the injection is in FRONT of the intercooler, is it not?  Would this not be a safer method of achieving similar results?
