[s-cars] locks reversing...WTF?

I have had this happen once, on our '91 V8 5-speed, after we disconnected
the battery to replace an oil cooler line. Don't know what the exact cause
is and how to prevent it in the future. Maybe a voltage spike and some
type of DC surge protector (if one exists?) is the cause/cure...

I know how to fix the random condition of the "Backwards locking system",
but what the F*ck causes this to happen. First time was about a year ago.
Twice since. Just YESTERDAY I was thinking that it hadn't happened in a
while, and BEEP...BEEP...BEEP, opened the door this morning, car unlocked,
alarm triggered. Pulled the fuse, everything's OK till next time...but WHY?
How many of you have this happen, how often, and is there a permanent fix?
