Bob,
I installed this exact unit in my car over a year ago
with no problems. I mounted the control with velcro to
my ashtray and the RF modulator I zip tied underneath
the dash near the steering wheel. I fabricated a small
plate so I could mount the changer in the factory
mounting points without drilling holes. I then cut
open the factory harness , at both ends, to connect
power and ground to the changer and modulator box.
Yeah, a factory changer for $450 would be nicer
but the sound is pretty good tuned in on the radio. I
only paid $199 for my unit from Crutchfield. I just
have radio preset #1 for the changer. My kids really
like the fact the can control the unit themselves from
the back seat too. I mounted the remote control, with
velcro, right above the rear heated seat switches.
Good luck, email me with any questions.

Audi Fans:
I have a 93 S4 without the factory CD Changer. I've
been following the
lis=
ts and I'm not convinced the factory changer (or
equivalent) is the way
to =
go. I can pick up a JVC CH-X1100RF at a good price.
Has anyone on
this li=
st installed one of these or has an opinion about them
(quality,
reliabilit=
y etc.) and how well they work with the Bose radio.
Thanks for your assistance,
Bob
93 S4
