[s-cars] re: car dying between shifts, mine three

Only happens to me when the engine is cold. I have not yet pulled codes but
have thoroughly cleaned the Idle Control Valve and the ground strap is shiny
clean at the connector.. I really fear my MAF is bad as I did run the K&N
for a while and recall some threads about possible contamination of the MAF
wires from the oil. I am now running stock OE paper. I also recall some
threads about successful cleaning of the MAF. Sure would like to try that
after checking codes, etc. and BEFORE dropping $400 or so on a new MAF.
Regards,
Mark
P.S. I know my multi-dysfunction temp sensor is bad. I have a new one but
have not changed it yet. Is this a possibility or am I just being
optimistic here?

hello all,
i would like to chime in saying my 95.5 s6 avant is having avery
similar problem that begun (like a broken record) just last night.
after driving for say 15 minutes, made a right turn and car dropped
idle and died at exit of slow (2mph) turn. any thoughts? the turbo
bypass valve was just replaced about 60 days ago so that is out. i am
thinking either the grounding strap at rear valve cover are as David
suggested, or the MAF.
"please, please, please let it be the grounding strap." :) anyhow,
thank you for any insights.
sincerely,
matt ludwig.
95.5 s6 avant.
(it is also cold in DC.)
