As Charlie mentioned, the surcharges come from picking up the air time
on the far end. I'm paying 7 cents a minute into Germany on my landline
from Florida (email me off list if interested in this rate -- I won't
advertise for a long distance company); calls to a cell phone there run
29 cents a minute or some such, whether the cell phone is in an Audi or
not.
