[s-cars] bad temp display...

If you mean the HVAC control unit that sets interior temp, I am having the
same problem. There are four bulbs, easily replaceable.
The bulbs are part numbers 4A0 919 040 C and 893 919 040 A.
Getting at them looks to be fairly simple. To paraphrase Bentley:
With a thin tool, like the dull end of a hacksaw blade, or a thin
screwdriver, gently pry the trim piece out. It is held in by two snaps.
Unscrew the two screws holding the HVAC control head in the dash.
Unplug the Monster Cable
Look at the HVAC control unit from the back, the bulbs are on the top, right
up against the faceplate.
If you mean the exterior temp display lights, this has been described
previously, a search in the urs4.com or s-cars.org FAQs should turn up a
good description of what's needed.

Has anyone had the back light on the temperature control display fail on
them? It's the screen on the left. I can barely read it during the day,
and
at night I have to flick on the interior light to see it. Just wondering if
this is common.
