[s-cars] Status Update: Fumoto Oil Drain Valve

Heads up for everybody, here's the current status:

1. Haven't heard back from them yet. Did send out email requests Sunday
night about it to both the company directly as well as to my local
distributor. Was planning on calling directly on Wednesday (first
weekday free time), but Bill is supposed to run by their offices
tomorrow to see if he can talk to someone in person about it (thanks
Bill!), and we'll see from there.

2. I'm trying to arrange a group discount code, rather than simply a
bulk purchase. This would mean that you would order the item directly
from them using a code I will supply to you to obtain the discount, so
that I don't have to collect funds and redistribute each valve
individually (a preferable way of handling it in my book, so I'm not
left with 5 or 6 extras at the end by accident). Shooting for a 15 -
20% discount over list at this point (I've had 24 unit-queries that say
"count me in!" and another three that said 'probably', so the buying
power of 28 units should be worth 20%), plus a flat shipping rate in
the USA. If any list members are outside the US and interested in this
item, I will be happy to reship for you if they won't ship directly.

3. I also received three reports from list members who said they
ordered these valves previously and got an incorrect size (one simply
returned it, one held onto his and it's somewhere in the garage, and
one went back & forth with them three times to get the right valve), so
I'll be going through some extra pains to try to insure that everyone
gets just the right thing before they ship. Those of you who already
have the valves in place, please contact me off-list with the
year/model of your car & engine and the actual model of valve that
worked for you (thanks!).
