[s-cars] ECU removal

I got to the ECU and am ready to uninstall.  A few quick questions i need to ask before blowing up the car:

1. what should be the power status when removing ECU, does the car have to be just off or do i even need to disconnect battery?

2. Do i ship ECU with cover, etc. to anderson motorsport?  how do i package it so the chip is not ruined?

3. When i receive the new ECU, i obviously put it back in, etc. (reverse of take-out), but what do i do in terms of power?  turn on?  wait in position II?  etc.

Thanks for detailed instructions!  sorry i'm an amateur, but im just worried about causing more harm than good.
