Another antifreeze that meets the same VW spec TL 744C
as the blue Autobahn (G 48) ZVW 237 105 stuff from the
dealer is Zerex Glysantin G 48 from Valvoline (licensed from BASF).

However, it seems that the Zerex G 48 stuff is hard to find
in small quantities.

Instead, I've been thnking about trying the Zerex G 05 also
listed at the link above. It's based on the BASF Glysantin G05
used in European Mercedes since the 80's, and it's now widely
available (Pep Boys, etc.) because it meets the requirements for
Daimler/Chrysler and new Ford applications.

Apparently the G 48 AND G 05 both use "hybrid" organic acid
technology" (HOAT) which has some silicates, vs. the pure
OAT of the Audi red stuff, Dexcool, etc. As far as I can tell,
converting to G 05 from the blue stuff should not be a drastic
change like converting to the red.

By the way, it appears that the G011xxx, G11, G012xxx, G12, etc.
coolant part number designations are VW/Audi specific, and they
seem to be easily confused with the supplier/industry designations
like G 05, G 48, etc.
