Paul,

Did I inadvertently bring up something that has been flogged to death? Sorry
I missed that. I sure it was heated. Hehe.

So a question, did you change the position of your brake pedal somehow? I
just can't HT in my car.

Rich

Subject: [s-cars] a racing question??

It is impossible for me to heel-toe my Audi. But I have read in Dennis Jenks
book about shifting w/o using the clutch. I can do this pretty handily using
the gas to get the rpm right and then popping the car into gear. This means
I can leftfoot brake and gear down when I get this practiced.

But here is the question. What kind of violence am I subjecting my gearbox
to? BTDT preferred. Clever conjecture accepted.

R-

Ohhhhhhhhno! Have we opened the LFB / HT pandoras box yet again??? 8-) You
either have size 17 shoes, or size 4.5... my 10s HT just fine.

I've been doing the match-revs shifting / LFB thang for years, on all my
cars. Never had a gearbox problem (well, except now with galled 1st!). I
imagine repeated "whoopses" whereby you don't sveltely match the revs may
not be such a good thing, but otherwise I would think you're OK if you do it
'right'.

Of course, I'm no expert...
