Interesting info Bill. Owning an S2 myself, I know all about the ebrake
probs. What S2 sites did you run across?

What I finally did was cough for RS4 rear calipers and beefier rotors. I
just got the spacers I needs to do the installation.

I will dig around for some Granada springs where I live (Sweden). If I find
a bunch I will give you a shout.

Rich

Needing just a guide pin for a rear caliper carrier, I made inquiry to
the stealer and I learned that a whole new caliper carrier is a cool
$190, I sat down and thought and thought.. hmmm didn't Jim Klein make
me retrieve my old G60 front calipers from the trash just because??
Took me forty minutes to find them and low and behold the guide pins
look to be identical with the rear calipers. Nice! Nothing to buy.
Thanks Jim!
Also, while searching for an elusive guide pin, I came upon some S2
sites and something I hadn't heard before was that a big contributor to
the ebrake failure is weak release springs. The answer to these weak
springs is of course to Hapersize(tm) them. Apparently a euro 1990 or
so Ford Granada (not to be confused with the old US "BoxRide") has these
hefty springs that will fit.
I couldn't find any euro Ford parts places, so how about it? Can anyone
pick up the ball and provide an idea of where to find these ebrake
springs on steroids? The part numbers are 6141147 and 6141148.
Plan B would be to create a new spring or add to the existing springs.
Engineers?
Bueller?
Cheers'

95 1/2 Avant - very fast, no brakes (for the moment)
