Here are the cheapest sources for OEM parts I have
found. Most everything ships from these guys the same
day and they have multiple warehouses across the
country. 2 day wait max for me. I just bought front
brakes and pads for the S6 and got them next day for
normal ground UPS charges. You should be in for
pads/rotors all around for about $300

Hello:
Looking for a source to buy set for four wheels of
brakes pads and
rotors for the A6 1998, which I think has the same set
up as my S6. I
may also need a new rear caliper, as it seems frozen.
BTW, would this
induce a noise like a rattling hubcap when the car is
turned to the
left (only from the front right wheel). The gaiters
seem fine with no
leakage or cracks. Car has 55,000 miles. It sounds
exactly the same as
an old volvo I used to have which clicked and rattled
when I went
around turns because of a loose large hubcap. The A6
doesn't have
hubcaps of course. Anyway, any help on sources and
advice is
appreciated. Local mech wants around 12 to 1500 to fix
and thinks the
rotors rattling the brakes is the source of the noise.
OUch.
Thanks for the help.
Rich
95 S6 still for sale
