Come on guys. We should all honour the chippers in this list. Whether
they totally screw up or do a perfect job they all succeed in making our
cars interesting and fun to own. Let us face it, all our cars are over
five years old but still provide us with plenty of adrenalin. Think
about the price you would pay today to get the same performance.
Expect things to go wrong because the car is old and by chipping it you
are stressing it. This is not the tuners fault because he is just giving
you what you want.
I love referring my unsuspecting passengers to my physio after some
sudden WOT encounters with my RS2 turbo'ed '94 S4 and I would never be
able to do it without guys who have taken the time to learn a lot more
than we know and offer the results to us to try. Many of us have
forgotten how 'nice and boring' our cars were before we could modify the
ECU's.
