[s-cars] solid mass fly wheel?

like most s-car owners, I think the cost of replacing the dual-mass fly
wheel is a bit daunting, financially speaking. Added to that, it seems like
the flywheel needs to be replaced when the clutch goes.

I understand that the dual-mass flywheel was the route taken because of
quieter operation...but how noisy can solid mass flywheels be?

SO, has anyone one-off'd a solid mass flywheel for the C4 S4?
