[s-cars] G50 is GL-5 or GL-4 and Amsoil in tranny

Fred's correct, neither the can of G 50 nor the
Bentley say anything about GL 4 or GL 5.

The owner's manual does say:
"Synthetic transmission oil G50, SAE 75/W90
(Mil-L-2105 or API/ GL 4)"

Now, to be picky, even the owner's manual can have
typo's like the "75/W90" instead of 75W/90,
not that it's any big deal.

The G50 can does say VW spec No. 501 50.

In Europe, Castrol TAF-X meets VW 501 50
and API GL 4/5:
