Whoa, sounds like the start of another big thread...  Careful with these,
lots of discussion on the VR6 lists about incompatibilities and horror
stories of leaking headgaskets from guys switching to G12, etc. etc.  Audi
says you can mix, others say you can't, etc. etc...   Change was driven by
a new headgasket design/material in that 96-97 timeframe.

I'd personally stick to what the manufacturer intended when the car was
made (i.e G11 for the S4, and whatever your owner's manual says for the
S6), unless you really think you have a cooling problem that's related to
the type of antifreeze you're using (and not something else).

G11 and G12 have been superceded by G12+. G12+ is
backward compatible with G11 and G12 and can be mixed
with either one.
