In my days BCM(before the CO Mafia), I did run a an unshielded cone filter. I
since repented of this sin and got rid of it. It was noisy(you could hear the
Bypass valve fire when shifting), and sucked only heated air. The inherent
design of the AAN with the intake located next to the turbo necessitates some
sort of cold-air feed. The stock system performs this in a wimpy fashion. The
Negative Boost articles of lore from Autospeed.com are rich with suggestions.
Thanks to Mike, you can have it your way only if it flows, Pederson, I run a
Happersized(tm) PBMAF(Pederhousen big MAF) and a cone filter in a bucket from the
Ford SVT folks with RAIS(ram air intake system). The challenge is not to suck
up little animals or small children while accelerating my car. I do post my
departure times on a local web page so mothers can remove their children from
the streets prior to my leaving Everboost. The downside is that you hear the
BPV fire whenever it operates. The Ricer boys love it but the shy and unassuming
Hawaiian from Everboost would rather hear Iz than listen to his BPV.

Hap, on the road again away from Everboost, Maguire
