I think you have a pretty good solution. Baking soda is a mild base and will
neutralize the acid. Use lots of water to rinse.

Well it appears my battery  has somehow managed to spew a bit under the
rear seat.
Can anybody recommend a good neutralizing / cleaning method.  How about
a water / baking soda solution with water rinse?.  Any spray on
commercial products available?
It appears to have gotten in and around some of the wire bundles - no
damage yet but I gotta neutralize it.
