[s-cars] Miss at WOT?

Mike,
PSO are known to miss whatever the RPM. Coils miss at high boost but it
doesn't have to be WOT. So you may try to see if you still get the
misses when the gas pedal is say 1/4" above the floor. If you need to
activate the WOT switch to have misses, I would rule out the coils at
the beginning. The main reason is the only really reliable procedure to
diagnose a bad coil is to replace it and see if it improves. Not a cheap
diagnosis. There is a detailed procedure to diagnose the coils at
http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/S4_Ignition.htm but it didn't work for me.
May be it's just because my problem is not related with coils but I hope
it's not the case as I just ordered replacements for the 3 original
coils remaining in the car.
If it's not the coils, you'll have to rely on another lister as I have
no BTDT with full RS2 conversion :(
Vincent.

Hey guys, I've been lurking on list for a while and I've had this
missing
issue that I need to sort out real bad. First off, I have '95 S6 w/full
RS2
package, 28psi, etc.
Car runs smooth and great until you go WOT under load in the higher
gears.
If I'm off the throttle, just cruising in 4th and I floor it, it boosts
up to
20psi or so before it misfires bad. Thing is, I can only get it to do
it under
load. Car has new plugs/connectors. Any way to test if it's PSO or
coils or
even a wastegate? Car has 120k on it.
Thanks,
Mike
