[s-cars] Nurburgring instruction?

As I'm sure R+C will point out if I don't, the real risk is to your car interior... :-P

I should amend that offer to state that I'm not offering !consecutive laps" as a in-car coach.

After a few years of doing my job, there's not much in a car that could scare me on a "closed" circuit.

Probably the best approach is:

1) Watch a few ring videos to get familiar with the track
2) Ride along for a few laps to get even more familiar with the track
3) Take your first few laps with a "coach" in the passenger seat who can help you anticipate what's coming ahead for the MANY blind corners.
4) Once you're familiar with the track and aren't ever "surprised" after coming around a turn, then look into professional help to further fine tune.

Cheers,
Keith

Keith,

That is a generous and daring offer. That American has never been in the
passenger seat of my car while I was doing one of my famous/numerous
merry-go-round imitations in the infield. If he had, he might think once or
twice before offering :-)

Seriously though, I definitely I would like some coaching before doing the
ring. Just have to sort a few more details with my S2 before it is ready.

Rich

Rich, there is quite a bit of driver instruction available at the ring, from
full courses $$$$ to private "coaches" that you can hire to help you out.

Your best bet is to join the "Ringers" mailing list and post an inquiry.
http://www.smartgroups.com/groups/ringers

You'll find a good number of other Swedes on that list too :)

Full day courses are offered by Scudiera Hanseat, Zakspeed (they also sell
rides in the race viper), and BMW.

Of course, there is also an American who lives 50km from there who would be
happy to give you a few laps (riding or driving) around the ring...

Cheers,
Keith
