Same here, the range GALA works seems to be pretty narrow, I usually have to turn the volume up or down manually as I speed up and slow down.

For the alarm honk, I think you need to program it with a VAG-tool, there're codes on AW tech section, you can program auto door lock/unlock and remote windows and sunroof operations as well while you're at it.

I was skeptical about the GALA thing myself.  Now that we've replaced
that head unit with an aftermarket stereo, we are constantly turning the
radio down after runs on the highway.  In my opinion, the attenuation
was never enough anyway.

Can't help with the alarm.

Does the GALA feature on the Delta radio actually work?

It never seems to make any difference. I went through the protocol on
AudiWorld to (www.audiworld.com/tech/elec22.shtml) see GALA in action
but
volume adjustment never occurs as I am driving.

Also how do I program to activate or deactivate the honk that
accompanies the
alarm?
