I wouldn't do it with ought changing the lifters, for that cam.  I would
definitely do the cam timing chain also.

If you haven't already change out the cam timing belt and the aux belt,
as well.  You could also do the idler bearing for the timing belt and
the timing belt tensioner.  Hek you could do the whole timing belt
thing, it will be off anyway.

Tomorrow I am changing out my AAN Exhaust Cam and giving the 7A Exhaust
Cam a "try."  I've been through the Bentley procedure and it looks
relatively straight forward.  Any words of advice before digging into
it?  BTDT's?  How long should it take me? I have a new valve cover
gasket and camshaft seals to replace while I am in there.

Finally, anyone in WA State have any problems passing emissions with the
7A cam installed in an AAN or 3B?
