The stock Audi intake is a very good applicaion of cold air feed. However,
you just knew this however was coming didn't you, there is always room for
improvement. The Negative Boost series of lore improved all the intake tract bits
and pieces with minimal improvement. The single and best improvement was the
addition of a Home Depot(HD) RAIS. The elimination of the puny airbox inlet plus
the RAIS added up to positive pressure in the airbox.
These articles covered a stock engine with no mods. My conjecture is that the
larger your turbo, the higher your flow, or the freer your post turbo
ducting(FMIC), the more effective this mod becomes. Those of you running RS2 turbos
should see a 150-200 rpm drop in your boost threshold. Lunatics like Mike
Pederson would see a 250-300 rpm drop. My experience was 300 rpm. I guess I qualify
for that lunatic title as well?
Hap, lookin for somethin to suckemup in Everboost, Maguire
