Oh yes! It happened to me three years ago at Watkins glen. The bpv that was
installed did not have the brass weight as most of the newer bosch valves
do, and diaphragm ripped and was ingested into the turbo. The cold side
wheel got bent and the 3-month old turbo needed rebuilding.

Is that really true? I have seen diaphragms tear, but never to the point
where debris is being digested by the turbo.
