To test the fuel pump, you can jumper a +12V hot lead (off a fuse that is
hot all the time) to the fuse for the fuel pump (#17, IIRC). Do this test
with the ignition off. If the fuel pump is working correctly, you'll hear
it running... and get gasoline all over if the fuel rail is still
disconnected!!! So make to have somebody standing by the catch the fuel if
it is still all apart up there.

If this test works, it may very well be the fuel pump relay at fault. If
nothing, it may be a bad fuel pump.

Thanks for all responses so far..
Towed car home cause hell I can fix this ..Not.
At least so far. I do hear a soytin new yorker has a very similar car
available for sale before goin rice;)
Anyway. I tried pulling engine codes but vag com would see my engine or
something. Said it wasnt obdII compliant upon that test. I then hooked up
the A8
and vagcom worked there:/
So I wonder if I blew a ecu fuse or it is the famous ignition switch debacle
or it is just the fuel pump.
Tomorrow AM I'll trow in the towel and have it hauled to my mechanic.
Stay tuned, or any last minute thoughts are welcomed too.
Bill m - wondering how the 26mm swaybar install stopped the car from
running?
