Sorry to tell you bit it sounds like the start of the galled noise. I have
had the experience of galling two perfectly fine first gears on my car.
Although I never dropped the clutch at 4000 rpm ... I did like to pull out of
parking lots in the pouring rain under full throttle in first. I understand
that taking off and turning at the same time on a slippery surface is where the
most damage can be done. (Except maybe dumping the clutch at 4000 rpm ... if
the clutch holds)
