Short answer; I really don't know.
Is the Uni-Com something you have used on your A4 ? That is , a
diagnostic tool with Audi/VW software in it? If so, then you really
just need the interface for the S6. The '95 S6 is pre-OBD II and does
not have the purple many-pin plug I believe your A4 has. It only has
two small 2-pin connectors in the engine compartment fuse/relay box and
takes a VAS 5051/2 to interface the OBD II plug to the S6. This is at
the year for changeover to OBD II so I don't know about '96 or '97
models, but they would either be OBD II or the same as the '95. So, if
the Uni-Com diagnoses VW/Audis, and terminates in an OBD II plug, then
you need the 2 plug adapter for older systems.
If that doesn't confuse the issue enough, I can probably make it worse.
If you go look at the Denver '95.5 use his VAG-COM. Or ShadeTree is
just down the street.
